Airport baggage tracking with RFID - An effective solution to prevent lost luggage

The fear of lost luggage is one of the most stressful experiences for any air traveler. The image of waiting hopelessly by an empty baggage carousel has become a classic nightmare. For decades, the aviation industry has relied on barcode technology to process billions of bags each year.

For connecting passengers, the system automatically directs the luggage to the correct transfer belt. Many modern airports also send notifications to passengers’ phones, letting them know their bag has arrived and on which carousel.

  • Signal Interference Issues: RFID radio waves can be affected by metal and liquids. However, the latest generation of devices has been greatly improved to minimize these effects.
